At New York fashion week last Sunday evening, after the Custo Barcelona show, there was still Hilfiger show. I didn’t know at all what to expect, when I sat in the taxi on the way to Park Avenue Armory. This show wasn’t held in Lincoln Center, where most of the shows were.

New Yorkin muotiviikoilla sunnuntaina, Custo Barcelonan näytöksen jälkeen, oli vielä illalla Hilfigerin näytös. En tiennyt yhtään mitä odottaa, kun taksissa istuin, suuntana Park Avenue Armory. Tämä näytös ei siis ollut Lincoln Centerissä, jossa useimmat näytökset olivat.

When I arrived there and saw the place, it took my breath away! It was so beautiful. I noticed the initials ‘TH’ in the gates, when passed them at the entrance. The spacious place like a hall was transformed into a magical autumnal forest. I felt like Alice in Wonderland! The grey gravel on the ground and the old fashioned street lamps made it look like a park.

Kun sitten saavuin paikan päälle, olin aivan puulla päähän lyöty. Avara hallimainen tila oli lavastettu taianomaiseksi syksyiseksi metsäksi, tuli ihan Liisa ihmemaassa fiilis! Sisäänkäynnin rautaporteissa oli Hilfigerin nimikirjaimet, maa oli täynnä harmaata pikkukiveä, ja vanhanaikaiset katulamput vielä lisäsivät puistomaista tunnelmaa.

The catwalk surrounded the hall in a large square shape, and the seats were also park-feeling benches.

Itse catwalk kiersi hallin ison neliön muodossa, ja istumapaikatkin olivat puistomaisia penkkejä ja tuoleja.

The name of the collection was Town and Country. In the flyers on the seats were all the outfits and clothes described. My place turned out to be pretty good, it was right in the front where the catwalk started. Actually the best place for photographing!

Malliston nimi oli Town and Country. Istumapaikoilta löytyvässä lehtisessä vielä kuvailtiin asut ja niissä näkyvät vaatteet. Oma paikkani osoittautui aika loistavaksi, se oli nimittäin aivan catwalkin alussa, josta mallit lähtivät hallia kiertämään. Sainkin kuvailtua asuja teille!

The collection was preppy Hilfiger style. Lots of autumnal rusty colors: plum, burgundy, midnight nave blue, black, lion yellow and forest green. Plaid shirts, trench jackets, narrow trousers and riding boots. In materials wool, leather, patent leather, silk and suede. In details slits, buckles, thin belts, pockets and checked pattern.

Mallisto oli juuri Hilfigerille tunnusmaista preppy-tyyliä. Syksyisiä murrettuja värejä: luumua, viininpunaista, yönsinistä, mustaa, sinapinkeltaista ja metsän vihreää. Kauluspaitoja, trenssejä, kapeita housuja ja ratsastussaappaita. Materiaaleissa villaa, nahkaa, kiiltonahkaa, silkkiä ja mokkaa. Yksityiskohtina halkioita, solkia, kapeita vöitä, taskuja ja ruutukuviota.
